Each year, Lilly employees in more than 65 countries worldwide volunteer through our Global Day of Service. Since the program launched in 2008, employees have given more than 1 million hours through Global Day of Service initiatives, making it one of the largest single-day corporate volunteer programs globally. Jointly, Lilly employees and local organizations create meaningful opportunities to drive impact and promote healthy lives, healthy minds and healthy communities around the globe.

This year marked Lilly’s 14th annual Global Day of Service. Thousands of employees participated in more than 200 independent projects supporting 89 organizations globally. Volunteer hours totaled more than 27,000 and included a mix of in-person and virtual projects focused on racial justice, education and COVID-19 health care workers. Some of this year’s projects included career coaching and resumé building, blood donations, creating notecards of recognition for health care and community workers, constructing raised table beds for fresh produce, park beautification projects, painting murals in support of racial justice, and more.
